101: 230:"A 1978 graduate of the California Maritime Academy, Commodore Bolton was appointed as captain in May 2008 on accepting the position of Commanding Officer of the Training Ship Golden Bear and Director of Marine Programs. Prior to joining the Golden Bear, he sailed extensively in the U.S. Merchant Marine, serving in support of the Grenada Invasion, the First Gulf War, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
