In 1955 he left the law and entered seminary. He was a Presbyterian minister in Manchester from 1958 until the 1970s when he retired to care for his ailing wife. White He later returned to the law serving as assistant Clay County commonwealth's attorney and Clay County attorney Justice White was appointed by Gov Julian Carroll to the first Kentucky Court of Appeals formed in 1976.
