The Akin family acquired the property about 1910 and in 1985 the Gillham family purchased it and restored it to near original state. On March 4, 1946, Mr. Howard Blocker and his wife, Rebecca T. Blocker purchased the estate. Mr. Blocker owned Columbia Paving and was a prominent member of the city.
