De twee voetstukken van de standaarden hebben aan de onderkant een zwarte band bij wijze van grens tussen aarde en instrument. Het overige oppervlak van de voetstukken toont een voorstelling van een koraalrif dat ruimtelijk in diepreliëf is wegestoken. Dit koraalrif is een voorstelling van de tatamanan, de watertuin in de zee. De zee en de koraalriffen rond Bali, lager gelegen dan het laagste punt van het eiland, met hun dodlijke slangen en giftige vissen kunnen niet anders dan beschouwd worden als de woonplaats van kwade geesten. Deze tatamanan is dan ook het symbool van de onderwereld van de demonen. In de voorstelling van het koraal op de voet van de gongstandaard keert telkes een omgekeerde 'V' met omgekrulde uiteinden terug. Dit motief toont drie bergen. Eigenlijk worden er vier bergen bedoeld, maar één berg kan niet worden weergegeven bij gebrek aan driedimensionaal perspectief. Deze vier bergen worden geassociëerd met de vier windrichtingen en vier goden waar men op Bali erg veel ontzag voor heeft.
