mestizos (often called Peranakan Chinese) arose that spoke Malay or Javanese. Sometimes they were Muslim, they spoke of a shaved Chinese, because the characteristic pigtail disappeared. The Chinese had their own rituals brought on 10001017 depicted as the lantern festival. However, not all Chinese were Muslim and they worked their own temples, especially in the big cities, where simply the largest groups were Chinese. Here they played a major role in the import trade, brokering and the retail and had held various crafts. These occupations often they acquired an adequate capacity.
