156:"El escudo de armas del Municipio de Paicol, tiene diseño de perímetro de forma suiza de seis tantos de ancho por ocho de alto, que lleva predominantemente los colores naranja y verde, correspondientes a los de la bandera del Municipio. El escudo tiene un solo cuartel en el centro que representa la Iglesia Parroquial del Municipio, Monumento e hito histórico y arquitectónico reconocido a nivel nacional, construido en 1970 en estilo ecléptico que combina el romántico y neo-clásico. Está rodeado con una cinta en color verde que adornado con veintitrés estrellas de seis puntas en color naranja que representan igual número de las veredas legalmente constituidas. El escudo de armas llevará cada uno de sus lados cornucopias o cuernos de la abundancia, ambas esmaltadas en oro naranja y vertiendo hacia el centro: la del lado derecho frutos y cultivos propios del Municipio; la del lado izquierdo animales propios de la fauna lugareña. El escudo llevará en su parte superior una puerta abierta por la que se divisa las cumbres nevadas del Nevado del Huila y en donde se origina el río Páez que discurre en medio de campos verdes hasta su confluencia con el río Magdalena en el sitio de Domingo Arias. En letras de estilo está escrito exactamente debajo de la puerta lo siguiente: "Paicol Puerta del Viento". Tendrá el escudo por soporte la fecha del año 1701, año de la fundación del Poblado."
