Las franjas verdes representan el color esmeralda, la esperanza y riqueza de su suelo, la agricultura, la ganadería y las praderas embellecidas por los pastos del yaraguada y los productos típicos de la región amparados por el modelo labrador de la tierra, san Isidro. El amarillo representa las fiestas tradicionales del pueblo como son Corpus Cristi, domingo de pascua, el ocho de diciembre Fiesta de la Inmaculada Concepción Titular y Patrona de la Parroquia de Cabrera, el 16 de julio fiesta de la Virgen del Carmen, y Navidad. Es también el color que representa la laboriosidad de sus gentes, las flores silvestres del amaranto y el jaral y el sol que con sus rayos embellece nuestra tierra y representa la vivacidad, coraje y calor de sus gentes. El terracota, color ocre es el color bermejo de sus tierras y donde van estampadas doce estrellas plateadas que significan la integración de sus doce veredas en las doce Juntas de Acción Comunal. El plateado de sus estrellas representa las aguas vivas de los ríos Fonce y Suárez que bañan nuestro Municipio.
