Sir Frederick Tilney of Boston, Lincolnshire, married Margery Rochford (d.post 1399), daughter (and heiress) of Sir John Rochford of Boston. Their third son was Sir Philip Tilney (d.1394), of Boston, MP for Lincolnshire, an official of the Duchy of Lancaster in which capacity he was connected with Sir William Thorpe, MP, a courtier of King Edward III.
