Penrhynhalen Farm. RAF Bodorgan, was a 'hush-hush' base, its location was not shown on RAF maps. It had two main functions:(a)as a Satellite Landing Ground, and, (b) as a launching site for pilotless Queen Bee aircraft (converted Tiger Moths) and for towed targets drawn behind Lysanders and Martinets, which were used as targets for RA air-gunners at the nearby Ty Croes artillery range. There was also an experimental squadron charged with carrying out radar experiments with the foil, or 'window' as it was then dubbed. RAF Bodorgan closed down at the end of 1945.
