30: 255:. Jackson had a long and distinguished legal career, and gained the respect of the whole profession. He practised until approximately a year before his death and was thus active in his profession in New Zealand for over 55 years, which made him the oldest practising solicitor in New Zealand at that point. He became generally regarded as the father of the profession in Auckland. His firm is still known as Jackson Russell today. 219:.
