Later, Tad brings Leslie back to town to help him get even with David, but instead Leslie attacks Tad and almost kills him. Dixie, not understanding how Tad could have brought the menacing Leslie back into their lives for something as stupid as revenge, loses her trust in Tad once more, and they divorce again in January 2002.

She initially keeps the identity of Jamie's father a secret from all but her aunt Phoebe, but eventually shares the news with Tad's loved ones.
