The league was in negotiations with CBS and TNT for coverage after Versus dropped the UFL as part of its rebranding to 1757:$ 150,000 per game) up front each week: unlike conventional sports television agreements where the network pays the league and/or team, the UFL actually had to pay CBS Sports to air its games, meaning that the league was then responsible for selling advertising time to recoup its expenses and generate any revenues from the broadcasts.
