you mountblow that there is a lot of "north indian-sanskrit speakers markers" in merina nobility and sri lanka is one of possible origin. i just would ask some questions to lanka 07 (thank you in advance for your answers) 1. how do you explain in in sinhalese that madagascar can be interpreted as "with tree in the middle" ? (historically the name madagascar have been given by marco polo who knew it from arabs navigators he met somwhere in sri lanka) 2. do/did you call your cattle "jomukha" or "jomuka" "gomukha" or "jamuka" or something near (this was the ancient name of cattle in merina nobility and it come frome the sanskrit name of one of the ganga/gange source in himalaya - which look like a head of cow = gomukha) 3. what is the name of "silk" in sinhalese ; is it "landy" like in the ancient merina nobility ? (or something near ?) 4. what is the name of ficus (religiosa and other) in sinhalese, is it "aavi aavi" (sanskrit origin of the name in ancient malagasy) or "zawi zawi" or "awi awi" or something near ? 5. do you eat red rice in sri lanka ? and when it is cooked xith a lot of 6. do you call your intellectual and elite "sanga" or "sangha" like in ancient merina nobility ? 7. is there trace of rajput and jat warriors passage in sri lanka, especially the tomara if your answers of these questions are positive then there will be some serious probability that sri lanka and madagascar might have been effectively connected in the ancient time. Regards

Rajput and Jat wariors, Malay and Javanese wariors, Tamils peoples, Buddhism conception of life, planting Ficus Religiosa in their palace court, Sanskrit terms: calling cattle "jomoka" (Sanskrit gomukha), calling dogs "alika" (Sanskrit alika), calling music instrument "valiha" (Sanskrit "vaadya"), dressing in silk material, planting wet red rice in valley bottom ricefield, rice vocabulary is in Tamil, etc. we can found all of that in Sri Lankan history...it seems like they fly away from Sri Lanka with their clan after a terrible battle. So please, if you know anything about Rajput warriors along with Malays and Javaneses wariors who fled away from Sri Lanka after a terrible battle between AD 1200-1300 tell me: it will solve some big problems in Madagascar history! Thank you in advance. Cheers:

Chandrabhanu from Malay kingdom of Tambralinga has conquered Sri Lanka once, then he was attacked and muredered, do you know a little about what happened to his officers and militaries after that? Thank you.. Some Merina (Malagasy) vocabularies: Lapa, Ruva: palace; cattle: jomoka/gomukha; rice: vari; dog: alika; young woman: kala; 111:
i, myself, came up recently in the same conclusion but i am not sure if sri lanka was not just a passage or the origin of this madagascan nobility (it depend on the fact that rajput warriors like tomara, which are one of the merina nobility source came from sri lanka or indonesia). but i agree with

Hi, I noticed that you're from Sri Lanka. I've made a contribution about Madagascar history (article: Andrianampoinimerina) and my personal researches point a possible origin in Sri Lanka and Malaysia for the Malagasy Merina nobility, because they brought the following elements circa AD 1200-1300,:
