Before my early retirement in 2009 I worked for an engineering contracting company and in this capacity travelled extensively throughout many regions of the world. Although an engineer I have always taken a deep interest in History and historical matters; local, national and international. In 2007 I was awarded a Ph.D. from Sheffield Hallam University, which I received under the supervision of Professor Peter Caine, a recognised authority on British anti-imperialism.
