Canada is an American indie folk-pop music group hailing from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Their songs are are generally acoustic and feature guitars, drums, cellos, glockenspiels, melodicas, rhodes piano, organ and accordians. They are known for their group vocals and harmonies and energetic live shows where members switch instruments between songs. "They rise above the poor acoustics and give us a rollicking good show, They enjoy themselves whilst they are at it too In keeping with the fashion of the moment, they boast an eclectic gathering of xylophonist, two cello players, numerous percussionists and the like. A swirl of country meets old world knocked in to shape with a garageband ethos."

The band, comprised of long time friends, formed in late 2004 and self-released the six song "How Dare You EP" in July of 2005. Soon after, they were approached by indie Michigan label Quite Scientific and soon signed with them to record a full length album. Recording took place during the fall and winter of 2005 in Lansing, Michigan on a soundboard originally used to mix portions of the second and third Star Wars films.

The band released their debut album, This Cursed House, in June of 2006. The album became the #1 most added album in college radio for June 20 2006, and later climbed to #13 on the CMJ Radio Top 200 (CMJ New Music Report, Issue 971). They appeared on the cover of the July 3rd 2006 issue of the CMJ New Music Report under the title "Secretly Not Canadian".

Three short Mid-West/East Coast tours followed with friends Page France (Suicide Squeeze), Saturday Looks Good To Me (Polyvinyl) and Headlights (Polyvinyl). Joe and Ryan became brief members of Saturday Looks Good To Me during this time, playing bass and drums respectively. Ryan later became a more permanent member with the group and toured with them as their drummer during their 2007 US and European tours. Canada also performed at The 2006 Pygmalion Music Festival in Champaign-Urbana, The 2006 CMJ Music Marathon in New York City and SXSW 2007 in Austin.

Canada are embarking on their first nationwide tour during June and July of 2007 and are currently recording their follow up to This Cursed House.

All across America, students are rising to the challenge of doing something to end youth violence. The Do the Write Thing Challenge gives middle school students an opportunity to examine the impact of youth violence on their lives. Through classroom discussions and writings, students communicate what they think should be done to reduce student violence. In addition, they make personal commitments to do something about this problem.

By emphasizing personal responsibility, the DtWT program also educates adults about the causes of youth violence. Local community groups promote the program at the grassroots level so that teachers, school administrators, parents, coaches, and young people can bring youth violence into the open, where it can be examined and talked about in a constructive way. When students accept the Challenge, they become messengers for their own thoughts and ideas, which are ultimately more powerful than violence. We say to students, “ Accept the Do the Write Thing Challenge. Who knows where it will lead?”

To that end, DtWT also encourages the formation of groups called Community Peace Partnerships that work with local government, business and community leaders to provide opportunities such as job training internships, mentoring and academic scholarships for the students who have participated in the program.

The Do the Write Thing Challenge works because it creates a network of positive communications between our youth, their teachers and their community. This is why I support the Challenge. NCSV = National Campaign to Stop Violence

At the beginning of each school year, the NCSV invites the superintendents from school systems in participating localities to select middle schools to participate in DtWT. The superintendents make the program’s guidelines available to their middle school principals, who in turn, make the guidelines available to appropriate seventh and eighth grade teachers. After a classroom discussion about the problem of youth violence, participating students are asked by their teachers to make a commitment not to be involved in violence and provide written answers to three questions:

How has youth violence affected my life? What are the causes of youth violence? What can I do to reduce youth violence? The writings of the students are reviewed by a panel of volunteers recruited by the DtWT committee established for the participating locality. The panel of volunteers selects as “school finalists” the boy and girl from each school who submit the most responsive entry. A panel of local “celebrity” readers recruited by the local DtWT committee then reviews the writings of the finalists. This panel selects as “national finalists” the boy and girl school finalists who have submitted the most meaningful entries.

Once the school finalists and national finalists have been selected, the local DtWT committee publishes a book containing the writings of these students and organizes a recognition ceremony to honor all of the student finalists and their parents, teachers and principals. The committee also encourages the formation of groups called Community Peace Partnerships that work with local government, business and community leaders to provide opportunities such as job training internships, mentoring and academic scholarships for the students who have participated in the program.

NCSV publishes and places in the Library of Congress a book containing the writings of all the national finalists. In addition, NCSV organizes a national recognition ceremony in Washington, D.C. to honor these students, their parents and teachers. During previous national recognition weeks, Challenge “national finalists” met with the Secretary of Education, the Attorney General and Members of Congress to discuss their writings and feelings about youth violence.

  Jesso was born in circa 2000 B.C. with a brother named Jerrimiah.  As many of

you may know Adam lived with Eve in the garden of Eden. The story from the bible goes like this. Adam and Eve lived in the garden with no troubles at all. Then God told them not to eat the apples from a certain tree. They were allowed to eat from any tree except from that one. Then the story says that a snake beguiled them into eating the apples from that tree. Little do people know that that is wrong. It was really the Jesso who threw the apples into their mouthes. Then God came back and got angery at them. God didn't believe that Jesso (once Gods loyal companion) had tricked them so God made up the story that envoled a snake because he couldn't accept the fact that he might have been betrayed. But the truth is that Jesso lord of the devil tricked them into the greatest evil of them all, betraying god. Some say that Jesso is the right hand of the devil, but the true story goes that the devil is his right hand.

Legend has it that he is still alive living in a hot human body and will unleash chaos on the land. No one knows who he is, but some say he lives in an American town called Summit. Watch out he might be living near you for he has a permenant record of stalking, but how knows how he will stalk next.

Brett Ratliff was the last starting Quarter back for the U of U. He only started 14 games during his short career, and passed for 3,438 yds, nearly 1,500 yards behind MWC offensive player of the Year, BYU QB John Beck.

Ratliff struggled throughout his senior season and was often the at the butt end of ridicule for the Utes lack of offense, along with Head Coach Kyle Whittingham.

After his senior year, he entered the NFL draft but was not selected by a team and was signed to a free agent contract following the drafting of quarterbacks: John Beck, JaMarcus Russell, Brady Quinn, Kevin Kolb, Trent Edwards, Jeff Rowe, Jordan Palmer, Isaiah Stanbeck, Troy Smith, Drew Stanton and Tyler Thigpen. Alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence are not only adult problems -- they also affect a significant number of adolescents and young adults between the ages of 12 and 20, even though drinking under the age of 21 is illegal.

The average age when youth first try alcohol is 11 years for boys and 13 years for girls. The average age at which Americans begin drinking regularly is 15.9 years old.

According to research by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, adolescents who begin drinking before age 15 are four times more likely to develop alcohol dependence than those who begin drinking at age 21.

An early age of drinking onset is also associated with alcohol-related violence not only among persons under age 21 but among adults as well.

It has been estimated that over three million teenagers are out-and-out alcoholics. Several million more have a serious drinking problem that they cannot manage on their own.

The three leading causes of death for 15- to 24-year-olds are automobile crashes, homicides and suicides -- alcohol is a leading factor in all three.

While drinking may be a singular problem behavior for some, research suggests that for others it may be an expression of general adolescent turmoil that includes other problem behaviors and that these behaviors are linked to unconventionality, impulsiveness, and sensation seeking.

Binge drinking, often beginning around age 13, tends to increase during adolescence, peak in young adulthood (ages 18-22), then gradually decrease. Individuals who increase their binge drinking from age 18 to 24 and those who consistently binge drink at least once a week during this period may have problems attaining the goals typical of the transition from adolescence to young adulthood (e.g., marriage, educational attainment, employment, and financial independence).

Dependence on alcohol and other drugs is also associated with several psychiatric problems, such as:

depression

anxiety

oppositional defiant disorder (ODD)

antisocial personality disorder

Whether anxiety and depression lead to or are consequences of alcohol abuse is not known.

Alcohol use among adolescents has also been associated with considering, planning, attempting, and completing suicide. Research does not indicate whether drinking causes suicidal behavior, only that the two behaviors are correlated.

Parents' drinking behavior and favorable attitudes about drinking have been positively associated with adolescents' initiating and continuing drinking. Children who were warned about alcohol by their parents and children who reported being closer to their parents were less likely to start drinking.

Lack of parental support, monitoring, and communication have been significantly related to frequency of drinking, heavy drinking, and drunkenness among adolescents. Harsh, inconsistent discipline and hostility or rejection toward children have also been found to significantly predict adolescent drinking and alcohol-related problems.

Peer drinking and peer acceptance of drinking have also been associated with adolescent drinking.

The most common and effective way for an individual to combat his or her addictive behaviors is through a self-help support group, with advice and support from a health care professional. Treatment should also involve family members because family history may play a role in the origins of the problem and successful treatment cannot take place in isolation.

Ryan Parker has been acting since the age of 3. Her first acting gig was a Kit-Kat commercial. She appeared on many childrens television shows until the age of 6 where she landed the role of Young Cosette in Broadway's Les Miserables. After a year in Les Miz, Ryan was cast as Molly in Broadway's Annie, then took over the role of Annie for 2 years. After departing from Broadway Ryan attended La Guardia Performing Arts High School in Manhattan, New York. Being in and out of school was difficult for Ryan. After graduating Ryan attended New York University for a semester until being cast in Disney's Broadway production of Beauty and The Beast as Belle. Ryan is currently filming a thriller titled "There" starring along side Chad Michael Murray. The movie is set to hit theatres this fall.

Ryan has been linked to dating fellow actors Adam Brody, and Orlando Bloom. She is also seen around Los Angeles with childhood friend Lindsay M. Lohan, and other friends Lauren Conrad.

Kim Field (born 1951) is the author of “Harmonicas, Harps, and Heavy Breathers” (Fireside, Simon & Schuster; Cooper Square Press, 1993). The book filled a void in documenting the history of the harmonica and its notable players.

As an author, Field has also written for The Village Voice, the Seattle Weekly, Blues Review magazine, the Journal of Country Music, and made contributions to the Encyclopedia of Country Music.

In addition to his contributions as an author, Field is also an accomplished musician. As a harmonica player, guitarist, and singer/songwriter, he performed with singer/guitarist Isaac Scott, appearing on two albums with the legendary bluesman. Field also was a member of the Slamhound Hunters, who released two albums on Satin Records both in Europe and the United States. He currently fronts his own Seattle based blues band, Kim Field and the Mighty Titans of Tone.

As a songwriter, Field's work has been highlighted in the soundtracks of two feature films, "The Killoff" (1990) and "The Lawless Land" (1988).

Marcell Miklos Ács (born June 17, 1990) is a Hungarian/Australian amateur Muay Thai fighter. Representing Australia, he has participated in the World Muay Thai Federation Amateur World Championships twice, in 2005 and 2006, winning bronze medals in the 54kg category on both occasions. He is famous personality at his former school in Perth, Shenton College, known as "MarciveR" or, more commonly "The Civer", and is credited with starting the "-Civer" craze. Marcell is currently 173cm tall, and 64kg (he is still growing).

Marcell Ács was born in 1990 in Zugló, the 14th district of Budapest, Hungary. From an early age, Marcell and his family moved in between Hungary and Perth, Australia. Due to family issues, Marcell has only been living together with his entire family since mid-2006, and during his youth had spent long periods of time living with his father in Perth, or with his mother and sister in Budapest. His father, Ferenc Ács is a architect, and his mother, Veronika Vincze, is a world renowned sound engineer. Marcell also has a sister, Johanna Ács, who is 3 years his junior.

In June 2005, Marcell spent an extended period of time in Japan, as an exchange student at Kashiwa Municipal High School. At the end of his trip, he spent 2 weeks touring all around Japan, with other foreign exchange students, before returning to Perth.

In early 2006, Marcell spent a short amount of time in Bangkok training before the WMF World Championships, with several of his Australian teammates, at Mr. Thitipong Aumanun (Jar Tui)'s world famous Saengmorakot Gym.

After returning from Thailand (with a medal!) Marcell, and his father left by car to Melbourne, and then traveled to Hobart, Tasmania via Tasmanian Spirit ship, and met with his mother and sister. The entire family have been living in Glenorchy, Hobart, Tasmania since then. Marcell attended Newtown Highschool and then moved onto his current school, Elizabeth College.

This is not so much the creation of an article as a request for one. I got lost a bit in the whole process so I hope you guys will be indulgent. I would like to see the creation of an article on AIDS orphans. They are not mentioned in either the AIDS or the orphans article. There are more than 10 million AIDS orphans in the world today (UNAIDS 2006 global report). So I thought that since AIDS has been a featured article there must be some people on wikipedia who have extensive and specialist knowledge on the subject. Thanks a lot willem

In 2002 an entirely new type of spade was produced, named the appelspade, after its inventor Arie Appel. The appelspade has two vertical handles, two horizontal handles and a seperate footrest. The spade is made entirely out of stainless steel.

An article about the appelspade was published in the dutch newspaper Noord-Hollands Dagblad and in the dutch magazine Landleven. A photo was published in the english magazine Gardens Illustrated. In July 2008 the American ergonomist Chris Adams has published an impartial review, after testing the Appelspade. Jason Andrew Wells is a Lawton, Oklahoma native. Jason attended Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, from whom he received dual college scholarships in football and soccer. He graduated from Furman in the year of 2000, with a B.A. degree. While in attendance at Furman University, Jason not only excelled in his academics, he also stood out in his collegiate activities in both soccer and football.

After college, Jason had a unique experience playing professional football in the Arena Football League and opportunities with multiple NFL football teams. Probably it was founded by romans given the etymological meaning of the word Coslada: COS - flint LATE - Abundant, vast. Su condición de enclave urbano data del siglo sexto, siendo posterior al asentamiento de la corte de Toledo. Desde el año 713, en que las tropas de Tarik llegaron a estas tierras en persecución de los visigodos y judíos que huían tras la toma de Toledo para refugiarse en Alcalá, hasta 1083, en que Alfonso VI las incorpora a la Corona de Castilla, no hemos encontrado noticia alguna sobre el pueblo.

En la época musulmana es cuando Coslada se consolida como centro de producción agrícola, realizándose los primeros regadíos y especializaciones. Ésta es la razón de que en las “Relaciones Topográficas”, de Felipe II, se considere a COSLADA como de fundación árabe, cuando en realidad ya existía con anterioridad como una agrupación de caseríos, dominados a legua y media por un castillo en las cuestas de Ribas, sobre el río Jarama. A nivel de curiosidad, digamos que en dicho castillo se retiró el caballero Gracián Ramíres, tras la toma de Madrid, y desde allí hostigaba a los musulmanes con la intención de hacerles retroceder cuando menos más allá de Atocha, según narra Fray Francisco ce Pereda.

Con la toma de la fortaleza musulmana de Alcalá-en Ar, Coslada y las demás tierras de Alcalá son donadas por Alfonso VII a la mitra Toledana, en recompensa por la intervención del arzobispo de Toledo, Don Bernardo, en esa acción guerrera y, en general, por su labor a lo largo de toda la Reconquista. Comienza aquí lo que será una de las constantes de la historia de Coslada: ser siempre una tierra de propiedad de un señor, bien fuera noble o terrateniente que las arrendaba a los agricultores.

Estos campos, agrícolamente pobres, fueron testigos de la huida de Alfonso VIII, tras ser derrotado en la batalla de Alarcos por los almohades que los reconquistaron para el poder musulmán (1195), tras firmarse una tregua entre Alfonso VIII y Almanzur. Definitivamente reconquistadas para la corona cristiana, una de las primeras referencias concretas que existen data del tiempo de Fernando III (1230-1252), en la que se dice que COSLADA pertenece al Sexmo de Vallecas, uno de los tres en que se dividía Madrid, junto a Getafe y Villaverde.

De este siglo data, probablemente, su escudo de armas: un león rampante entre laureles, sobre campo de plata.

Con la llegada de los Reyes Católicos se funda la llamada Hermandad, especie de milicias destinadas a perseguir y acabar con el bandolerismo que azotaba los caminos y pequeños pueblos como el de Coslada que, cuando Cisneros funda el colegio mayor de San Ildefonso, era poco más que unos caseríos situados a media legua del Jarama.

Desde las fechas anteriores no hemos encontrado más noticias hasta 1521, año en que se repartieron quince picas( lanzas ) entre sus habitantes como contribución a la lucha comunera contra el emperador Carlos I, lo cual da una idea de la escasa envergadura de la población. Cuando Felipe II, en 1561, instaura la capitalidad en Madrid, imprime un gran impulso a toda la comarca, fomentando las rutas que comunican con ella, que para COSLADA, se centran en el camino Real de Manzanares.

En 1576 COSLADA figuraba como aldea de Madrid en el reino de Castilla, acudiendo para los repartimientos a Madrid de la que distaba dos leguas, y para apelar pleitos a la Chancillería de Valladolid, a 30 leguas. Pertenecía al arzobispado de Toledo y arciprestazgo de Madrid y en su parroquia se veneraba a San Pedro y San Pablo.

La iglesia era exenta, y junto a ella se agrupaban algunas casas, unas con techo de paja y otras de tierra cubiertas con madera y encima teja, en las que vivían entonces 30 vecinos o familias, que fueron disminuyendo:

“Todos campesinos menos dos, padre e hijo, que presumían de hidalgos, pero sin poder probarlo” Coslada no tenía molino propio, debiendo desplazarse al de Torrejoncillo de la Ribera, que era propiedad del Conde de Barajas, al que pertenecían también la ribera, los peces y las anguilas del río.

Tampoco las tierras eran de sus habitantes, sino del noble que las arrendaba, disponiendo que el trigo y cebada producidos se llevase a Sevilla para posteriormente embarcarlo a un navío y hacerlo llegar a las Indias. De allí vendría cargado de riquezas con destino a las arcas nacionales, de las que una pequeña parte redundaría en su beneficio. La paja sobrante iba destinada a Madrid. También tenían un poco de ganadería lanar y algo de caza. La leña, por el contrario, escaseaba, debiendo ir a buscarla al Real de Manzanares, a ocho leguas.

A pesar de todo, conoció un cierto florecimiento económico y demográfico que sería breve, según se deduce de los libros parroquiales, que se conservan desde 1584. Su declive se debe, al igual que el resto de las poblaciones de dicha época, al azote de la peste y otras epidemias, unido a las guerras estériles que se desarrollaron durante todo el siglo XVII.

Las rentas eclesiásticas y el salario del curato de Coslada, debían ser pagados por la Universidad de Alcalá, según se evidencia en el mandato del Rey, 1665.

En 1700 ya se sabe que contaba con Ayuntamiento propio, pero no se conserva su archivo. Éste fue incendiado por las tropas austriacas del general Conde Starhemberg cuando huían del ejército franco-español, tras la derrota en la batalla de Villaviciosa (10 de diciembre de 1710). Asimismo, fue quemado y destruido parte del caserío durante esta Guerra de Sucesión. Otros pueblos próximos, como San Cristóbal, a un cuarto de legua, corrieron peor suerte, terminando por despoblarse.

Este decrecimiento continuó: en 1785 habitaban en Coslada únicamente 64 personas, formando siete familias (de las 30 que había doscientos años atrás) habiendo nacido tan solo 15 personas y muerto 11 durante ese año y los cuatro anteriores. Su extensión estaba comprendida entre la legua y media de este a oeste y los tres cuarto de norte a sur.

El Ayuntamiento estaba compuesto por dos alcaldes ordinarios, uno por el estado noble y otro por el general, un alcalde de campo o de la Hermandad y un procurador común, nombrados estos dos por el corregidor de Madrid a principios de cada año.

Según narra el inquisidor Mauricio Puigmedón y Sánchez, en esa fecha el pueblo es muy pequeño, sin edificios notables ni más interés que una fuente de agua gorda con pila y un pequeño lavadero para uso público a 1.000 varas. Los árboles, fundamentalmente álamos negros y chopos, no sumaban los doscientos.

En esta época los vecinos sin trabajo se dedicaban a sacar piedra, pues en toda la zona, como veíamos, hay una gran cantidad de pedernal, llevándola a Madrid en sus carretas y con recuas. La agricultura, trigo, cebada, centeno y avena, se encontraba muy abandonada, fue poco favorecida por la recién creada Sociedad Económica Matritense, interesada por los problemas del campo y el acontecimiento de obras de riego y de comunicación.

En 1793 Carlos IV le cede a Coslada dos rs. de agua para fuente pública, con obligación de pagar los gastos en razón de los beneficios.

A partir de estos años comienza una paulatina recuperación, experimentando tardíamente el avance demográfico general del siglo XVIII.

A principios del XIX forma un solo término municipal con San Fernando, que le es agregado alrededor del 1818, pero vuelven a separarse pocos años después.

Así va creciendo llegando a tener 264 habitantes en 1864, agrupados en 66 vecinos o familias, de las que había 52 votantes que elegían a seis concejales.

De cualquier forma, el tamaño de Coslada es aún muy reducido y en 1875 hay apenas una docena de manzanas en torno a una calle principal. Poco más tarde se construye un pequeño paseo con una hermosa arboleda.

Al acabar el siglo XIX (1899) Coslada cuenta con un pequeño edificio para Casa Consistorial y unas modestas escuelas de primera enseñanza. Sus habitantes llegan a sumar trescientos (309 de hecho y 324 de derecho) y de dedican a una atrasada agricultura basada en el trigo, poca cebada y algún garbanzo. La ganadería era básicamente lanar y aún había algo de caza. Su contribución era de 10.000 pesetas (8.685 x 1.3151 pesetas). En su término se hallaba el despoblado de Torrejoncillo o Torrejón de la Ribera.

La población anterior se mantuvo hasta 1920, año en el que se cifraba en 312 habitantes. A partir de ese momento hasta 1950, fecha en la que se alcanzan 899 habitantes, si bien el pueblo permanecía prácticamente igual que en 1875. El verdadero crecimiento comienza a partir de 1950, con el siguiente ritmo:

En Coslada está ubicado el Puerto Seco de la Comunidad de Madrid, lo que la convierte en un punto estratégico. La mayoría de las empresas de transporte de mercancías importantes que operan en España tienen sucursal en Coslada. El otro gran activo económico de Coslada es su proximidad con el Aeropuerto Internacional de Barajas, donde trabaja gran parte de su población.

La población actual es de 91.906 habitantes (INE 2006) y su techo poblacional está cifrado en 130.000 habitantes, el cual probablemente alcanzará tras la finalización del barrio del Jarama. Se trata de un municipio cosmopolita donde están censados 18.435 extranjeros los que supone el 20% de la población, la mayoría rumanos, los cuales suponen actualmente un 16% de la población censada. Hay además comunidades más reducidas de chinos, latinoamericanos, hindúes, polacos y africanos.

Uno de los grandes orgullos de Coslada es la cantidad de zonas verdes que posee. Con más de 2.000.000 de m2 de zonas verdes, tiene una envidiable proporción entre extensión/m2 que la convierte en el municipio líder de la Comunidad de Madrid a este respecto.

La Candidatura de Madrid 2012 presentó a Coslada como subsede para la competición de Voleibol, lo que hubiese ayudado a modernizar las vetustas instalaciones deportivas de la ciudad, estadio de El Olivo aparte.

En la actualidad Coslada está gobernada por el Partido Popular en coalición con un partido local, la Plataforma de la Izquierda de Coslada (PIC).

• Barrio del Jarama: surgido del acuerdo de alteración de términos entre Coslada y Madrid, es la principal zona de expansión urbanística de la ciudad. En este nuevo enclave urbano se instalará el nuevo "Hospital del Henares" totalmente operativo en 2007 y que prestará servicio a la población englobada en el Área Sanitaria 2 (Coslada, San Fernando de Henares, Mejorada del Campo, Loeches y Velilla de San Antonio) y contará con una estación de Metro y un acceso directo desde la M-45, lo que asegura la accesibilidad al barrio y al centro hospitalario. Este nuevo barrio ofrecerá además la oportunidad a muchos vecinos del municipio de adquirir nuevas viviendas, ya que está prevista la construcción de unas 4.400, de las que unas 1900 serán de Protección Pública.

Coslada en la actualidad esta gobernada por Raúl López Vaquero PP en coalición con la PIC liderada por el ex-alcalde de Coslada José Huélamo Sampedro desde 2003.

Durante la legislatura actual los desencuentros en el seno de la coalición de gobierno han sido constantes, con diversos enfrentamientos, denuncias y declaraciones en los medios de comunicación.

Desde las primeras elecciones municipales Coslada estuvo gobernado por IU con José Huelamo de cabeza de lista. Obtuvo 4 mayorías absolutas hasta en 1999, donde la dirección de IU deciden echar a Huelamo del Partido y este decide formar un partido político llamado la Plataforma de la Izquierda de Coslada que actualmente gobierna con el PP en el ayuntamiento, tras la expulsión de Huelamo en 1999, IU en las siguientes elecciones paso de tener 14 concejales a 6.

The Whip Jacks is a band which was born in Madrid, Spain, in May 2007. The band members were at first Greg Planchuelo (Lead guitar and backup vocals), Gonzalo Ramos (Vocals and second guitar) and Jaime Salazar (Drums).

The Whip Jacks have a very characteristical style, combining old school punk-rock along with some melodic punk and a bit of hardcore punk. Some songs also have clear ska influences.

Their music has young and fresh lyrics, revitalizing and absurd/abstract in some cases, combined with intelligent critics towards society and injustice.

The name of the band came when Greg Gon and Jaime decided to randomly search the dictionary and came with "whip jack", a beggar which wanted to resemble a poor sailor.

They started to play on their free time and between classes at school, and became more talented and made new songs as time passed by. Their most famous songs at the moment are "Rib Diggers", "Pansy Asshole Chokers", "The Drug-Queens", "Winnie the Poo=Weiner the Shit", "Zonky", "Willy Dickenson Cockfield" and "Uncle Tom", from their fist demo album, which soon was recorded by an important production company at the studio and sold as a proper album.

The Whip Jacks started to play covers from Bad Religion, Social Distortion and The Offspring at the local joints but soon their talent spoke for themselves and they were allowed to play in better places and their own songs.

Nowadays, the band continues to play and is working on a new album... ¡Their musical career has just started and is raising non-stop towards the best punk rock bands ever!

"Punk-Rock, Hell-Yeah!", a weekly magazine sold for 3€ arround some countries in Europe, such as Spain, Portugal. Italy and Andorra.

"El Diario de la Musica", a daily newspaper related with new musical bands.

Sam Lewis is an american designer of board games and former line developer of the Renegade Legion line in FASA Corporation.

He holds an MBA in economics from Northwestern University, which he got 1983.

In 1983, he was credited as the designers of Mayfair Games' Dragonriders of Pern licensed game after a novel by Anne McCaffrey.

For FASA, he created the individual combat game Battletroops in their Battletech game universe, and is credited for the adaption thereof under the name DMZ in the Shadowrun universe. Apart from that, he was responsible for the RL game line and their setting until FASA ended the line in 1995 and licensed the game world to Crunchy Frog Enterprises.

Afterwards, he did lead GameStorm, a service of Kesmai Corporation. Other works since then include production work for EA.com and design work for Sony Online Entertainment's Star Wars lines. Nowadays, he is designer for Cartoon Network.

Graveside Service is a Black Metal/Funeral Doom band from Providence, Rhode Island. Starting with a recording contract from Atlantic Records, Graveside Service were more focused on lyrics similar to Cock and Ball Torture; though the sexual masochism was not serious in nature. This is different from the open, seemingly casual and contemptuous violence from bands like Hanna Montana and Linkin Park. The band is no longer part of Atlantic and now appears on Horrid Grim Doom Cudgel, supposedly because the band was not a serious Black Metal outfit.

It should be noted that Horrid Grim Doom Cudgel is a vanity imprint of Graveside Service in itself.

The principal lyrical focus of Graveside Service is making fun of Scientology, people in insulin comas, mocking prominent Jewish intellectuals; and attacking white liberals for pretty much everything.

Gavin Brown MSP (born 1976) is a Scottish politician. A Member of the Scottish Parliament for the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party for the Lothians region.

He was educated at primary school in Hong Kong, Fettes College in Edinburgh where he was Head Boy and then graduated from Strathclyde University with a law degree. He went on to work for McGrigor Donald solicitors for four years, after which he joined Speak With Impact, a dynamic skills training company. Gavin has served as Vice-Chairman for the Junior Chamber of Commerce. He is also a black belt in Tae Kwon-Do, and is a Scottish Champion and British bronze medallist.

He first contested the seat of Glasgow Rutherglen in the Scottish Parliament elections of 2003 finishing 3rd. In 2005 he contested the Westminster seat of Edinburgh South again finishing 3rd. Although he finished 4th in Edinburgh South in the 2007 Scottish Parliament elections. he was elected on the Lothians regional for the Scottish Parliament.

EF Records is an independent record label based in Georgia, and was founded by Nick Macaulay, Ben Judia, and Jon Bowman of the punk band Smash The State in 2005. Manhauling is a phrase that describes the act of pulling a load (usually in a sledge) typically over snow or polar terrain. The phrase possibly originated in the romantic age of polar exploration at the turn of the century. It has become a recognised rather niche sport in itself. The use of machines, even wind power kites to assist ones progress is frowned upon. Purists to the discipline, insist on progress to have been achieved purely through ones own labours - for it to be a true, pure effort. Robert Gesink (Varsseveld, 31 may 1986) is a Dutch cyclist.

Robert Gesink changed teams in 2006 from Löwik Meubelen to Rabobank Espoirs. He is considered to be one of the greatest climbing talents in the cycling world.

In the Tour of Algarve, at the end of februari 2006, Gesink already impressed by finishing 2nd in the hardest stage, in front of Davide Rebellin, he also finished 3rd in the general classifiction. In april he was even more succsefull after winning the Settimana Ciclista Lombarda, a stage race in Italy which was in the past won by great riders like Lance Armstrong and Pavel Tonkov. In June he continued his impressive year with a stage win and the general classification in the Circuito Montanes a hard stage race in Spain where all the best Spanish U23 cyclists participate. He also finished 2nd later that year in the Tour l'Avenir after Moises Duenas, an impresseve performance because not only winner Duenas, but also number three Tom Stubbe are both five years older than Gesink.

In 2007 Gesink moved to the professional team of Rabobank. In his first race, the Tour of California, he immediately impressed in the only mountain stage, attacking with experienced pro's like Levi Leipheimer and Chris Horner chasing Jens Voigt, eventually finish 4th in that stage. He also won the young rider jersey in that race. He went on by finish top 20 in several hard Spanish stage races. But the real suprise came in his first Pro Tour race, la Fleche Wallonne. Between the greatest riders of the world he finished 9th on the Mur de Huy after starting the climb in 50th position.

James Charles Castle was born September 25, 1899 in Garden Valley, Idaho. The future artist and bookmaker was presumed deaf, mute, illiterate and, some have claimed, mentally challenged. All these characterizations have either been refuted or brought into question. Most recently, medical experts have suggested Castle was autistic. In 1910 Castle was sent to the Idaho School for the Deaf and Blind in Gooding, Idaho. In 2007 school records were discovered that revealed Castle was not expelled from the school after a few months, as had been previously reported; instead, he attended classes for five years. Back home in Garden Valley in 1915, Castle made his own artist tools and supplies, sharpening twigs and sticks to serve as pens, making ink from stove soot and saliva, and drawing on any found papers he could salvage. Most of his work was done in the loft of a family icehouse, and works from this "Icehouse" period are Castle's earliest and rarest. In 1924, the Castle family moved to Boise Valley. In 1932 they settled in what is now part of Boise. Here, Castle lived and worked for thirty years in an abandoned, dirt-floored chicken shed, then a small trailer, producing drawings, books, and sculptural works ("constructions") from cardboard and other found materials. His books are frequently types: calendar, code, or album-style books. With soot increasingly difficult to obtain, Castle began using color. The artist would rub tinctures from wads of wetted, colored crepe and construction papers into other papers. In 1952 his nephew, Robert ("Bob" or "Ike") Beach took his uncle's works to art professors in Portland, Oregon, where Beach attended art school. Briefly in the 1950s and 1960s there was regional interest in Castle. Terms used to describe Castle and his art include "Primitivist," "Art Brut," "Folk Art," "Outsider," and "Self-Taught."
