The construction project of the building, estimated at $ 500,000, was awarded to the Chicago-based firm John Griffiths and Son, who completed the building in 1905. After the Columbus Savings and Trust Company filed for bankruptcy, the building was acquired by Depositors Realty Company in 1913.
