A Chancellor can also lead a department; this is not usual, but it has occurred on three occasions with Konrad Adenauer and Willy Brandt also serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs, while Helmut Schmidt held the post of Minister of Defence. 2389: 2096: 2123: 2400: 2172: 2362: 2286: 2324: 2438: 2967: 2763: 2210: 2058: 2248: 1978: 2514: 2827: 3328: 2476: 2085: 57: 1917: 1957: 1868:), a cabinet committee chaired by the Chancellor.
