22:(born May 31, 1954) is an American world trekker, public speaker and author. From April 1983 to April 1987, he walked solo around the world and became popularly known as “The Worldwalker.” He is the author or co-author of two books. Newman's walk took four years, spanning 21,000 miles and 40 million steps. His father, Edwin, died in 1984 while Newman was walking in India. Upon completing his walk, city officials in Bethel declared the day of his return an official holiday.
