75:(challenge to the challenge to the response to the challenge of the deletion) With the exception of the first sentence (which should have been trimmed to 'It is a Viennese coffeehouse'), the article was nothing more than random musings about various things related to the coffeehouse and some advice about how to avoid a tip. An encyclopedia is a collection of knowledge in a factual, organised fashion. The musings in the article are neither factual, nor verifiable, nor relevant. Furthermore, the article suffered from a lack of context (Knowledge (XXG):Criteria for speedy deletion#Articles reason 1). Ingoolemo talk 09:09, 1 December 2005 (UTC) 82:(response to the challenge to the challenge to the response to the challenge of the deletion) Knowledge (XXG)'s definition for "encyclopedia" includes "...The encyclopedia as we recognize it today developed in the 18th century from the dictionary. A dictionary is primarily focused on words and their definition, and typically provides limited information, analysis or background for the word defined. Hence, while it may offer a definition, it may leave the reader still lacking in understanding the meaning or import of a term, and how the term relates to a broader field of knowledge. 17:
English-speaking world. Always meticulously served, with a small spoon, a small glass of water, sugar, and a napkin, on a small metal tray, scratched and worn, but still dignant, elegant. You could stay as long as you liked, or at least as long as you could tolerate the universal whithering scorn of the waiter. He didn't care if you wanted to stay or not. Or wanted a dessert or not. Tip the guy more than 2%, and he'd snubb you, you'd clearly overplayed your hand as a corrupt capitalist American, who thought you could buy him off, with mere money. Ha. You pathetic foreigner worm!

man, almost bald, shaking his fist dramatically at the ceiling, the sky beyond, sunken face of a dissappointed angel - Onkel Karl? And her, the young cute one, tight-stylishly dressed, in black, with dominatrix boots, leaning into the table, towards the disaffected slouch of a youth, making her point, and then tapping hard at a cigarette - your cousin Andrea? Or one of her friends?

If you have an alternative entry, or would like to work with me to create an appropriate entry for the Cafe Pruckl, I would enjoy that. From your archives, you have extensive experience with wikipedia. I was surprised and delighted to find a gap that I could fill, in wikipedia, a resource that I use

A most classic Viennese KaffeeHaus. All are equally snubbed. The "Herald Tribune" is racked up on the stand of free newspapers, but sometimes you have to wait a few hours for it. In the days before internet, this was the best way of tracking, for the price of a "Grosse Schwarze", the ongoings of the

4-My entry was full of context. The context of the experience of the Cafe Pruckl. In contrast to *no* entry for the Cafe Pruckl, my entry is infinitely more contextual. To address your specific reference to (Knowledge (XXG):Criteria for speedy deletion#Articles reason 1), "...Limited content is not

3-My musings are both verifiable and relevant. They discuss the (admittedly) subjective art of having an appropriate culturally immersive experience of this cafe. That's much more relevant than simply announcing 'It is a Viennese coffeehouse'. And my entry is verifiable, simply by going to the Cafe

In the absence of an existing entry, and as a long-time frequenter of this Kaffeehaus, I believe that my entry represents the perspective of an adequate number of people, who share interest in the subject of the Cafe Prueckl. If my entry is to be challenged or rejected, it should be by someone who

So here's the plan. Stay there, wait him out. Pretend to peruse the Kronen Zeitung, as you cast about, every few minutes, looking for whomsoever you're waiting for. The old women, leaning in close, still wrapped in their slow-tattering fur coats - is that Tante Gusti? No, not quite. And that older

1-I never discussed avoiding a tip. I gave information on how to give an appropriate tip. I have spent hundreds of hours at this cafe, over the last 15 years. I have friends and relatives who have been visiting this cafe for decades. The tipping code in Vienna ranges around 2%. Tipping more is
28:--- For the reference of the general audience, here's the article that I created to fill wikipedia's blank for the Cafe Pruckl. It was almost immediately deleted, on the grounds of being "absoutely unencyclopedic". This was my response: 58:(challenge to the response to the challenge of the deletion) Your response is a bit generic - "If you wish to protest a deletion, you may do so at Knowledge (XXG):Votes for undeletion. Ingoolemo talk 08:49, 1 December 2005 (UTC)" 24:
Almost, but not quite. Wait long enough, and surely someone will come. Until then watch, float and drift in a sweet caffeinated haze of Viennamnesia. And whatever you do, show some respect. Don't tip any more than 2%...

I believe that I have contributed relevant knowledge. In the absence of an alternative entry for the Cafe Pruckl, my entry represents the full sum of relevant accumulated knowledge on that subject.

2-My musings are arguably factual. They're based on my experience of this cafe. I'm glad to discuss, with others, who have had factual experiences of this cafe, the accuracy of my observations.
