The dataset, if you download it, clearly shows Iran as regime type 5 "royal dictatorship" until 1979 and as type 3 "civilian dictatorship" thereafter. This agrees with the map included in the article. Nonetheless, I see there have been persistent and repeated efforts to change Iran's entry (in text)
