I don't know where it was based at, although I know that there were RAF sea plane bases in Malta and Alexandria. As for the time discrepancy, I don't know either. Perhaps the sub was merely damaged by the first attack and was sunk by the Sunderland after repairs. Or maybe neither attack actually sank
