I'm trying to improve some of the African archaeology wikipedia pages, particularly those for UNESCO World Heritage Sites, but it is an uphill battle. If you have access to an academic library, or a library that can Interlibrary Loan books for you, you might want to check out a new book called "The Oxford Handbook of African Archaeology" edited by Paul Lane and Peter Mitchell - it's the best, most recent source out there for current info about African archaeology topics.
