"Effortful trial and error with groping" and the subsequent points could be done as a bullet list. Anyway, to answer your question: technically if you've incorporated the original material in some form in your sandbox there's no harm in simply replacing the existing version with your version. You can just edit the existing article and delete all the text in the edit window, and replace it with the contents of your sandbox. I'd suggest an edit summary such as "Expanded article" or something like that. 130:
