decided that they can't easily differentiate between religious visitors and tourists, but a camera firmly identifies you as a tourist. The irony is that in the case of Canterbury Cathedral, I specifically arrived at about 7:30am to attend morning mass so that I would have the whole cathedral to myself (virtually) before it officially opened to the public at 9am, and I managed to avoid the steep £10.50 entry fee in the process. Yes, it was cheeky, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do, and hey, I saved Wikimedia UK some money. ;-)
