242:. The couple had nine sons and seven daughters. After the civil war ended, William Cooke began rebuilding Highnam Court, which had been demolished in the attacks. The manor at Highnam was built in 1658. While its architect is unknown, it is believed that it was designed by 285:, as Member of Parliament for Gloucester, and served from March 1679 to July 1679 and, again, from 1689 to 1695. Both Cooke and his son Edward were put on the Royal Commission of 1692. William Cooke died in 1703, and was succeeded by his son Edward. 890: 227:, where he died that same year, in 1643. William Cooke succeeded his father to the manor of Highnam, which was just west of Gloucester.
