Having done calligraphy for over 4 decades, I run into various forms called batarde often....... very rarely other than for one font to I see any reference to a letterform called Bastarda, and that has only been in the last few years. Oxford/Lexico/Merriam-Webster all do NOT recognize the name Bastarda.

Germany and France as a style that developed out of the need to write blackletter forms more quickly. To do so, a cursive slant was added through Italian influence as well as
