882:, what is this intended to show? If I click on the image, depending on where exactly I click, I will either get taken to results for a particular constituency (fair enough, but already available on the page); or I get the wikimedia image page, where I can see the image title is "Map showing the party winning the most first-preference votes in each constituency." This might be meaningful in a first-past-the-post system, but it's meaningless - and quite possibly 265: 331: 313: 422: 412: 391: 237: 207: 540: 502: 282: 836: 804: 729:
This article's infobox states FF won 38 seats, with the caveat that "Includes the Ceann Comhairle Seán Ó Fearghaíl, elected to Dáil Éireann in 2002 for Fianna Fáil, who is returned automatically". I won't bother providing references to support the 38, but trust me there are many. Although the search

The map was already there before I added the large one. It was there as an image and it shows, as it says right below it, "the party winning the most first-preference votes in each constituency." The map I added was an interactive way to access each constituency page, similar to the map of Spain

in Tipperary. A candidate may win several hundred more votes than their nearest rival, but see two or three candidates from other parties (or none) also be returned. The 'Results of the election by constituency.' map, already on the page, conveys far more information, more usefully, and more

can mean that the candidates with most votes at the first count can miss out on election, or may not get elected until a late count. Possibly without reaching a quota. This map is telling us that "independents won the most first-preference votes in Roscommon-Galway", but
730:
results are complicated by Sinn Féin's 37 seats, I can't find any references saying FF won 37. I'm not interested in any arguments about how they really won 37 due to the CC, he's a FF member and he's deemed to have been elected by the Constitution.
669:
Should today's Amárach Research polling for the Irish Daily Mail be added here? As of now, the raw data only appears to be available from Next Irish General Election on Twitter , but will surely appear on the company's own website in due course.
684:
Yes it should be added but not to the opinion polling section as it belongs to the next election cycle not to the cycle leading up to the election. This new article does not exist yet so i would add the poll to "Government Formation" for now.
153: 586: 930:(a page that in my opinion is simply fantastic at showing results of elections). It was my intention to add a similar table to this one below the map but if the large map is a problem, then I will not add it. The 1041: 934:
shows (at the top of the page for each constituency) a bar with the first preference result of each party, so it's not like this measurement isn't relevant or isn't used anywhere. --

I agree that we need to be careful and stick to what reliable sources are saying, but as far as I can see, the section is well referenced at present...?

Does anyone have any objections to the total in the Fianna Fáil article's election table being 38, so it's consistent with this article?

No (and in principle if a new coalition was on a knife-edge, Ó Fearghail could step down as CC to make up the numbers. There will be
