1713:. McLeman is a former Canadian diplomat who has worked with many country’s governments on issues of Climate Change, Migration, and Security. He is currently a professor of Geography and Environmental Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University. I plan on editing four sections of this article, specifically: Reversing Development, Infrastructural Impacts, Security Impacts, and Proposed Policy Solutions. In Reversing Development, I would like to add information to Rising Sea Levels and Exposure to Natural Disasters. McLeman points out that the removal of natural buffers, such as mangroves and wetlands, along with climate change and an increasing population puts more people at risk of environmental migration. This removal of buffers particularly affects impoverished people due to insecure housing and less access to resources following natural disasters. In the Infrastructural impacts section, I will include problems posed by insecure house locations, inadequate safety regulations, and outdated facilities, such as a lack of air conditioning in areas that are seeing an increase in extreme heat events. Many of these problems affect people in poverty more severely than those of higher socioeconomic standing and act as push factors for those populations. Lastly, in the Proposed Policy Solution section, I will include the importance of improving advanced warning systems and global response networks. McLeman shows how the aftermath of two similar Tropical Cyclones, one in the US and the other in Bangladesh, can illustrate the importance of advanced warning and save lives. He also adds that improved response networks between governments, institutions, and individuals can reduce the lasting impacts of extreme weather events and decrease the likelihood of impoverished populations leaving. If anyone has advice or issues with these changes, please let me know.
1236:. I will further expand upon the topics mentioned, and incorporate alternative ways to decrease climate change. I intend to explore how we might develop solutions to poverty though utilization of clean energy and environmental systems, rather than describing perceived problems and losses of development due to climate change, as the current article seems to do a bit. This investigation topic is essential to consider in our ever-progressing world of innovation and technology. Hopefully, findings will allow us to gain knowledge and encourage us to tackle the social challenges that face us as a result of climate in an objective manner. My hope is that I will be able to specify the material already provided, while integrating insight about alternative ways to limit climate change and how this might influence social development. The current article obtains many links to other articles, but is not particularly detailed. Most of the statements are rather broad and biased, rather than objective and specific (to a particular region geographically, or aspect of climate change).

Knowledge (XXG) articles so I (hope that I) remain neutral and avoid drawing my own conclusions from other people's research when writing content for Knowledge (XXG). My new article would include a brief definition of climate change, an explanation of the way it affects genders differently (even among low-income and impoverished populations) and why that is the case (social norms like division of labor, biological factors, environment/geography, etc.). It would summarize the research on the subject and talk about the two main types of policy addressing climate change (mitigative and adaptive) while focusing on case studies (in Bangladesh and India). Please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions about my proposed article. You can respond here or on my talk page. Thanks!

like (IPCC 2013). Also more facts could be sourced to give them more legitimacy when they sound like they’re trying to make a point, like the first paragraphs. Also, the first paragraphs sound sort of un-neutral, but it’s sort of tough to make those points sound completely objective anyway, so maybe adding more support form sourcing would be helpful. However, the whole issue itself is not completely neutral so it’s tough in that sense too. Try to add illustrations if you find good ones. All in all, great job!
