I dont agree this i think u dont have knowledge of tradition of karnataka GOWDA is a surname commanly used by Lingayath in north Karnataka and Vokkaliga and Kurubas in south Karnataka(Eg.Junjegowda who built Malemahadeshwara temple belongs to Kuruba Gowda.He is not belongs to recent generation)
