Talk:Foreign relations of North Korea

Source đź“ť

1209:
Korea's foreign relations. I think it is accurate. It doesn't ignore the Sino-Soviet split. North Korea had fairly good relations with both sides. North Korea also had ties with Eastern Europe, Cuba, etc. The other sentence is: "At the start of the Cold War, North Korea only had diplomatic recognition by Communist countries." I have added the information that NK wasn't recognised by a non-Communist country till Algeria in 1958, that is, 10 years after its official founding. The article indicates that NK only began to achieve wider recognition in the 1970s.--

is the official web portal of North Korea. There is no separate website for the Government. There is little about foreign relations on Naenara though. There are, however, news from KCNA and those sometimes touch upon foreign relations. There is a section dedicated to reunification on the website too.
1545:
I've looked around on the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Relations website and there is no indication there, or anywhere else that Slovenia has a strong relationship with North Korea. In fact, there is no clear indication that we have any special relationship. So why does the section on this matter
1193:
I removed the weasel tag as I found you had effectively eliminated that problem (good job by the way), but I still find it oddly simplified to only say they had good relations with Communist countries (which excludes Socialist countries, by the way). As I said, there was a schism between China and
393:
yet that big and detailed Knowledge (XXG) page does not mention DPRK ("North Korea") even once. DPRK is not a member of ASEAN there are only 10 members, neither is "South Korea". They may have some special status such as observer. So this needs checking and correcting since the link given doesn't
1208:
There are two sentences tagged. The first is: "The foreign relations of North Korea (officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea) have been shaped by its conflict with South Korea and its historical ties with world Communism." This is an attempt to neatly summarise the history of North
2215:
Just to explain the edits I made to the lead. North Korea's peace overture began with Kim's New Year's address, which was followed by participation in the Winter Olympics. It did not begin with a meeting with Trump. Despite what Trump has said, there is little evidence of a personal connection
1194:
the SU and Vietnam was also in conflict with China, so it's not as logical as it appears now. The Soviets and Chinese both supported it because it was close and they wouldn't want it to fall into "Western" hands, but what policy made it attractive to other Communist countries?
580:
I heard that Sweden is the only Western Nation to establish a diplomatic mission in Pyongyang. It also mentions in the Canadian Travel Report on the DPRK to report to the Swedish Embassy there as there isn't a Canadian one. So it would be a good subject to add to this page.
494:
North Korea's relationship with the South has informed much of its post-World War II history and still drives much of its foreign policy. North Korea and South Korea have had a difficult and acrimonious relationship in the five decades since the Korean war.
515:
I changed "international legal regime to combat terrorism" to "international anti-terrorism legislation". It is unclear whether this was what the original text was meant to convey or not. It was unclear what the original text was meant to convey at all ;)
2191:
The son of a former staff member in the Vietnamese embassy in Pyongyang, who also attended Kim Il-sung University between 1998 and 2002, gave an interview in 2004 with South Korean newspaper The Chosun Ilbo about the experiences he had while living
440:
the article contradicts itself: in the overview section it states North korea established relations with 66 nations in a decade, whereas in the history section, this number is reduced to a mere 63 countries, which of these is the correct number?
610:
Guys adding a Burma page is necessary considering the scale of recent cooperation between the two countries in the strategic and military spectrum I could go into it more but you guys get the idea somebody make it I have all the sources
1731: 728:
its only about the west, why do we need to know that france doesnt recognize north korea but not that north korea helps mynmar to make their own nuke, neither are the relation listed with vietnam and other south asian countries.
757:
This remains a problem. Developing countries are unrepresented: not just Asian, but also Africa, Latin America, etc. Overall, countries that have good relations with the DPRK have been left out or minimised. Malta is another
