OK I changed it from "electromagnetic potential" to "electric potential" because volt meters don't measure electromagnetic potential (whatever that is..) but rather they measure voltage or electric potential. I think an RF level meter would measure electromagnetic energy, but remember electromagnetic

Now one could argue that obviously the ~13hz brain waves or nerve waves do produce changing voltage and thus must radiate radio waves which do have a magnetic portion -- true, but a few microvolts at 13hz isn't going to radiate much radio waves and it is clear from the description that it was not the

If nobody minds I'll change it, but I've seen that sometimes people are very fond of "their article" on wp and just revert and I have no desire to change someone's personal webpage to say something they don't want! ~Jesse

radio waves or the magnetic component of them that Burr was detecting, but rather the voltage present on the skin, much like today's EKG machines.

energy is not a potential energy it is a real energy, unlike volts which is only a potential energy -- limited by available current. ~Jesse

A volt meter detects electromotive force or voltage potential but not a magnetic field nor the magnetic field of an electromagnetic wave.
199:"Burr is noted for his use of the voltmeter to detect the electromagnetic potential of the body, first reported upon in his 1936 pap" 141: 132:, a collaborative effort to create, develop and organize Knowledge's articles about people. All interested editors are invited to 276: 128: 86: 212:
So I guess I would ask "Who is it who noted Burr to use a voltmeter to detect the electromagnetic potential of the body.."

And it doesn't sound like Burr was measuring waves so much as he was just measuring electric potential.

The first line of this article mentions Burr as a researcher into bio-electrics (which links to:

I think "electrical potential of the body" would be accurate.
