646:, leaving the aria.com.au email ending and signature intact (I didn't want to leave the full email so they don't get inundated with requests) to show that it is from an 'official' source. The screen-shot I used for the "I Just Don't Have the Heart" peak was forwarded to me from another chart follower who contacted ARIA, but unfortunately he didn't forward the whole email he received, so I couldn't quite do the same. ARIA have not to date published positions 51-100 from when they commenced producing the chart in-house (the chart dated 20th June 1988/week ending 26th June 1988) until the start of the ARIA Report (14 January 1990), and unfortunately Gavin Ryan wasn't able to get this information to include in his books, although positions from the annual top 100 chart for 1989 are listed (as this was published in the first ARIA Report). However, a word of caution - Gavin Ryan has the wrong chart info for the 1991 end of year chart in his books (it differs significantly from the chart published at the time, and e.g. there are 2 different #1 albums listed, which differ to the #1 album of the year at the time). Also, some certifications from between 1988-1990 are missing in the book. But likewise, some certifications are missing from the ARIA website on their annual charts in the early years - I've seen missing certs as late as the 1992 annual chart. 615:. The template's documentation, in the 'Supported Region' table and the 'Notes' column, indicates it shows Australian certification pre-1997 by displaying text-only without a URL link. Although it is not verifiable, it is ready if and when ARIA get around to loading earlier years of accreditations, and gives the reader an indication of when it was accredited. It is frustrating for those of us interested in Australian music industry certification history that earlier information is yet to be published in an easy to access resource. It is good that Gavin Ryan did published 1988 onwards, but in the case of this album, I expect it was omitted because the album was released and charted primarily before ARIA took over the 'official' chart publishing, and Ryan likely didn't have the rights to publish the Kent chart information. Also, from documents I've seen, only platinum for singles was 100k before 1989 or 1983 (not sure on year, I would have to check this out further, as I think I've seen both mentioned), while platinum for albums have been 70k since 1983. See 447:
many of his hits (although some of the best songs didn't make it onto the original album). On top of that he revived his 'Oh Boy' rock'n'roll roots and had a Shadows set, and a collection of other notable artists. This all takes time though and I still have to dig up more references. Just for your info, one of my aims was to get all Cliff's mainstream 70's-to-now album-pages created, so that they can be sequentially clicked through using the Infobox's 'Next Album' link. Just thinking out loud, maybe there should be a Cliff project page like wiki editors created for Elvis years ago, because there is just so much Cliff stuff generally. Like you say, Cliff's 80's singles have barely been touched. I worked on his 50's/60's stuff too, although it is way before my time, as it is important to have his early stuff properly recognised as he was the UK's biggest artist before the Beatles arrived, and his significance in that period has been depreciated in some quarters of the music media. FYI, "my time" =
487:. I don't own the album but would buy the CD if I saw it for cheap enough as I'm always buying old CDs and records! So it's interesting reading all the info you've added about the album and was surprised a while back when I saw there was no page for it. I see there isn't one for his latest album either and was hoping someone else would create it as it's always quite a lengthy process and the content of that album doesn't quite excite me enough to do it! I'm usually found editing album pages but I'm certainly happy to do bits of editing on Cliff's mid 80s to turn of the Millennium singles. By the way, I see it's not on the album, but is the video for the Stock Aitken Waterman-produced "I Just Don't Have the Heart" filmed at 'The Event' concert? There's no mention of it on that song's page but it would have been released as a single around the time of that concert. -- 522:
But I thought "Stronger than that" and its 7" & 12" remixes were pretty good. The "Lean on You 12" remix is also really good if you've never heard it. It was a pity "Stronger than that" wasn't released in Australia earlier because Australian radio which was more rock-pop oriented at the time, wouldn't play the SAW track, and it held back the success of the Stronger album down here. Hey thanks for your help on getting the From a Distance album page going. Just looking again at what I did on the weekend, it needs a bit more refinement yet. I'm not sure when I'll get back to it at the moment with Christmas and everything coming up but I will sometime. --
898:, but I think they'd make all those medley tracks look a bit messy. I'm on a bit of a Cliff Richard roll at the moment (probably because it's Christmas!) and I've got another Cliff album article creation planned for the next few days so I'll keep you posted. I think the singles "Some People" and "My Pretty One" possibly need their own Knowledge (XXG) articles as they were fairly big hits here in the UK at least if you fancy creating one or both of them at some point - I'd do it but I'm not so used to creating singles articles! The biggest blooper I've seen on ARIA accreditation list is Michael Buble's Christmas album, which earnt double-Diamond in 2016 for one million sales, but is listed as double-Platinum! As their flagship accreditation, and the first to be awarded double-Diamond, I would have thought they would have made sure it is correct. I'll have to try remember to let them know if I hear back from them.

Yes, I reverted those newly added genres as the anonymous editor hadn't really put them in the right place, but your explanation of the genres is a good addition as this album was notably different to other stuff by Cliff, in theme and style. Hi Geach, I've updated the intro further. Hi Geach. Yes, the "Just Don't Have the Heart" music video is from The Event (and yes it would be worth being mentioned on its page). It was the next single after the two concerts. I was disappointed with the song actually, I felt both the music and lyrics fell quite a bit short of SAW's best tracks.
