As such, the waiting time for this is especially long, much longer than it should be. As a result of this, I am asking each sports-related WikiProject to review two or three of these nominations. If this is abided by, then the backlog should be cleared quite quickly. Some projects nominate a lot but don't review, or vice-versa, and following this should help to provide a balance and make the waiting time much smaller so that our articles can actually get reviewed! 2437:(Just some quick thoughts before I go to bed.) This is a definite improvement on the existing criteria, and you could go ahead and make these changes, without prejudice to the following considerations. However, I'm not sure about excluding Challenge events (Roth is almost a world championship in itself, with ~500k spectators - plus my own view that the WTC needs a good dose of competition), or Abu Dhabi (highest prize money on the long-distance circuit outside Kona, I think). Also difficult to see how a 2263:
in its infancy. I've seen a few age groupers/non-pros place in the top 3 at a 70.3 race. I think what makes a finish notable (within in the sport of triathlon) is a deep field of competitors. What about keeping notability for WTC races at the championship level and add qualifier list of "other" races - races that can stand on their own (or have the potential to) as a separate Knowledge (XXG) article? I think we should keep in mind the larger Knowledge (XXG) policy of

A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found 2123:#3 The category description has information related to WikiProject. I have read some guidelines that maintenance categories (include WikiProjects) and end-user categories shouldn't be mixed. Either should this be a pure maintenance category (WikiProject, hidden or some maintenance cat as parent) or a pure normal category for end-users. Ordinary user that only read Knowledge (XXG) don't know anything about WikiProjects. -- 885: 764: 715: 662: 580: 527: 419: 266: 2715: 2875:. No reason why we couldn't do something similar, it's just not very high up on my list of wiki-priorities. Perhaps you'd like to help? In the meantime, you could add an image to the infobox on Crowie (easy - just use the "| image =" parameter) and to the medal table for Cameron (or better, set up a new infobox for him), which would be very welcome. Thanks for asking here. -- 2235:(I'm feeling a bit lonely on there). I thought the previous version was too strict, since it would only allow 3 athletes of each gender to qualify each year, and didn't think that was what you had intended. I also wanted to include REV3, Challenge Series, and Abu Dhabi, but not until we had articles on them - it would look a bit silly to have redlinks in such a section! -- 1033: 977: 938: 833: 476: 363: 1271:, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. weekend there were four 70.3 distance race under the WTC brand. Additionally, I think this places some undue weight on the WTC brand and leaves it open to include podium finishes for any of the newly emerged Rev3 brand of iron/half-iron distance race. Thoughts? Perhaps this needs to be discussed within in Triathlon Project.
2079:#1 For me it feels a bit odd to exclude these from your WikiProject. For example an actor; is it better that movie freak or a triathlon freak write about their triathon achievements? My opnion is clear that the triathlon freak are better to write about it. Anyway, to exlude these is according to your scope. -- 1887: 1806:(UBLPs) aims to reduce the number of unreferenced biographical articles to under 30,000 by June 1, primarily by enabling WikiProjects to easily identify UBLP articles in their project's scope. There were over 52,000 unreferenced BLPs in January 2010 and this has been reduced to 32,665 as of May 16. A 2262:
Outside of ITU, I think it's hard to nail down what constitutes notable finish in a simple bulleted list or paragraph. Part of it is the race itself. Is the winner of IM Malaysia or China more notable than the winner of Wildflower or Challenge Roth? Abu Dhabi is an impressive win but the race is only

I think there are certainly enough articles (and potential articles) for such a page. Trouble is, there are only two of us active on this project (Yboy83 and me), and we both divide our time between this and other projects, in addition to having other commitments in real life. So it may have to wait
2608:
Well, the more I think about (bare with me as my thoughts keep evolving), I'm more inclined to just have it state "Has won an event that has a starting pro/elite field of 15 males or 10 female competitors" which I think would capture all major non ITU/WTC races. I'll remove the rest because I think
2563:
Maybe we can keep thinking about that last one. If we say "over the same, or similar course" for the last five years then all of a sudden my local sprint triathlon now could be considered a significant win (if I understand you correctly). I think the direction I was going for when I wrote that part

to include a podium finish in any WTC Ironman and 70.3 race, not just the championship races. I would contend that with the pace and rate new races are being added (particularly for the 70.3 distance) that some of this is watering down the meaningfulness of placing in the top three. Just this past
1523:
Following on from the above discussion about sponsors... the "results" sections of athlete biogs - is (e.g.) 17th place in an obscure/local event really notable? Should we consider limiting to top 3/5/10 positions and decide upon a list of events which are suitable for inclusion in these sections?

Even though this user has been banned I think a good discussion point has been brought up. I'd like to see if there is any other thoughts on this. I would be up for changing the 2009-2011 to read "20XX ITU World Championship Series" since that is how the ITU had referred to it. Additionally, all

I largely agree with your points and would be receptive to adding/modifying the proposed standards to include that. My only concern is with the expansion of WTC, Challenge, Rev3, etc. events that there is the potential for dilution of the talent pool (at the pro/elite level). Here is what I'm
