female artist of the decade: if you compare her with the others big sellers of the decade (Mary J. Blige, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey) you'll notice that none of those artists has sold more than her (i'm referring to RIIA certifications). In terms of charts achievements, she's scored six number one singles on the R&B chart, the most for any R&B female artists during the decade. Also, it would be easy to find sources from papers which could sustain my statement. What i mean is that during the last ten years she's been an influent recording artist on the R&B chart and i would say - this is my personal opinion, so you can calmly criticize me:) - that during her career she's been quite a global embassador of R&B: she's never tried to achieve a bigger success by redefining her music (just as Beyoncé did) and that's what separates her from the other R&B artists. For me, her importance in the music industry consists just in this: she's a pure soul singer, who has musically growth during her career and has been able to redefine in her way soul music, and that's why i'd like to see here the R&B chart. However, i understand your point of view and i truly respect that. --
