on a global scale, the flags present an instant visual cue to the country of origin, which is especially helpful when scrolling through a long list of tables with a lot of columns stuffed with other data. At a quick glance in the midst of side-by-side statistics, the country in which any particular coaster resides is immediately apparent and helpful in comparison to others in the list. Unlike article prose, such a visual cue has more relevance in a list article; the table format is a different kind of presentation. Removal felt like taking a step backward.

I found that some of the steel coasters are listed as 1700m while some are 1700.0m, which could cause a different ranking when they are all the same length. Not sure if it's a mistake so I thought I would just add it to the talk page for someone else to consider. Thanks!
