Does the opening of the article suggest, without evidence, that the G-36 is useless? I think it does. It is right to mention von der Leyen's political view, and right to mention it had issues in the heat. But that is not the same as saying it is 'useless'.

I removed the bit mentioning the reciprocating parts move on steel rails inside the receiver. The receiver is steel reinforced, but the bolt carrier does not ride on any steel, only plastic or more specifically, nylon 66. I have an HK SL8-1 and a G36K parts kit I can verify this with if questioned.
