Miss GB, on the other hand, is a pageant still in existence which used to send girls to Miss Universe, up until 2000. Leilani Dowding held the title of Miss Great Britian Universe 1998, and competed in the Miss Universe 1998 pageant in Hawaii. She is a legitimate Miss GB. Today, the organization sends its contestants to Miss Tourism World, a third-rate international pageant. Today, the Miss Universe contestant is selected through castings under the "Miss Universe UK".
