Is the animated gif accurate? It looks like it is rectified but it in't clear where the rectification is happening. If it is plain AC through a Thyristor, shouldn't it have a half-wave gap while it is reverse biased during the negative part of the cycle?

Hey, for me PFC means "Power Factor Correction", not Phase Control (Where is the F in it anyway?) Is there any reference for this? Otherwise I would suggest to delete this abbreviation. --
