careful in your efforts. In a number of cases I can see you've replaced properly formatted references containing deadlinks with the bare url and a deadlink tag. That's not really how refs with faulty url links are supposed to be treated. The idea behind a reference is to allow readers to verify information, but that doesn't mean that a url is necessary. Often times there are paper copies of references available that can be located if the original formatting has been left in place, and for online-only sources there are often links available for historical material at the internet archive. At the very least, leaving the original text of the ref available indicates to readers where the information originally came from and allows later editors to re-locate the ref if it has moved url location elsewhere on the web. Adding the deadlink tag is very helpful to be sure, but I think you should just add it next to the url link and not simply blank the ref to replace it with the deadlink tag. To illustrate what I mean see below:
349:(now marked as Ref. 1, under the section for Rosh Hashanah), refers to a website written by a Christian, ostensibly to show the Jewish roots of Christianity. That's all well-and-good; he's entitled to his website, and probably isn't even wrong, as far as it goes. However, my view is that (a) this reference doesn't really add any value to the article in the first place, and (b) for a Jewish holiday like Rosh Hashanah, an equivalent Jewish source, were such to exist, would be more appropriate. Thanks for your consideration.
