Delivered by MessageDeliveryBot on behalf of WikiProject Wikify at 01:27, 2 December 2011 (UTC).

Responding to RFCs

Remember that RFCs are part of Dispute Resolution and at times may take place in a heated environment. Please take a look at the relevant RFC page before responding and be sure that you are willing and able to enter that environment and contribute to making the discussion a calm and productive one focussed on the content issue at hand. See also Knowledge (XXG):Requests for comment#Suggestions for responding.

Greetings! You have been randomly selected to receive an invitation to participate in the request for comment on Knowledge (XXG) talk:WikiProject Photography. Should you wish to respond to the invitation, your contribution to this discussion will be very much appreciated! However, please note that your input will carry no greater weight than anyone else's: remember that an RFC aims to reach a reasoned consensus position, and is not a vote. In support of that, your contribution should focus on thoughtful evaluation of the issues and available evidence, and provide further relevant evidence if possible.

You have received this notice because your name is on Knowledge (XXG):Feedback request service. If you do not wish to receive these types of notices, please remove your name from that page. RFC bot (talk) 05:15, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

RFA thankspam

Thank you for your support at my recent successful RFA. Being now the new fellow in the fraternity of administrators, I will do my best to live up to the confidence shown in me by others, will move slowly and carefully when using the mop, will seek input from others before any action of which I might be unsure, and will try not to break anything beyond repair. Best, Schmidt, 18:32, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for your time! --Katarighe (talk) 18:33, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

December 2011

Hi Katarighe. Thank you for your work on patrolling new pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I'm just letting you know that I declined your deletion request for LG Octane, a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. Please take a moment to look at the suggested tasks for patrollers and review the criteria for speedy deletion. Particularly, the section covering non-criteria. Such pages are best tagged with proposed deletion, proposed deletion for biographies of living persons, or sent to the appropriate deletion discussion. When you nominated it, it read "The LG Octane is a 3G phone for Verizon Wireless, released in October 2010 as a basic feature phone to replace the LG enV3." Context is perfectly clear. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:05, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, I will keep an eye of it. The LG is new I think and it is clear.--Katarighe (talk) 20:06, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

    2011

Article of the month – 2011 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

The 2011 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix (formally the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix) was the eighteenth and penultimate round of the 2011 Formula One season. It was held on 13 November 2011 at the Yas Marina Circuit on Yas Island, a man-made island on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. It was the third running of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. As is customary with the race, it was the only twilight Grand Prix of the 2011 Formula One season, with a start time of 17:00 local time.

The race was won by McLaren's Lewis Hamilton. Second was Ferrari's Fernando Alonso, with Jenson Button coming third in the other McLaren.

Sebastian Vettel, in a Red Bull-Renault, had been in pole position, but retired after a puncture in the first lap, near the second corner, which was his first retirement since the 2010 Korean Grand Prix, where he encountered a problem, with his engine. As a result, this prevented him from equalling Michael Schumacher's record of 13 wins in one season, but Vettel did equal Nigel Mansell's 1992 record of 14 pole positions in one season. This was also the first race of 2011 in which neither Red Bull finished on the podium, as Vettel's team-mate Mark Webber finished fourth.

    Query

Katarighe, I have to really question your judgement. At RfA, you seem to echo what other users say or say something like "improved since last time" based on the RfA number. At the recent FAC for Malaysia, you "reviewed" it one minute after your previous FAC "review". At AfD, you seem to do the same; like "agree with nom" or simple, short echoes of what others have said. If you decide to run for adminship, remember that some editors !vote based on users' judgement. Also, I'm wondering if this is because English is your second language and you can't type out all your thoughts? Thanks, HurricaneFan25 01:42, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for your help. I will be really careful with it and I will decide. I support the user strongly becasue, I read his 3 nominations and reviewed his contributions so he is perfect and he can do maintenance with it. Kindly regards. --Katarighe (talk) 01:45, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

    Beverly Hills, 90210

I note that you have added templates to the talk page for Beverly Hills, 90210 (season 8) but not Beverly Hills, 90210 (season 9) or Beverly Hills, 90210 (season 10). Thought you may want to know 19:22, 26 December 2011 (UTC) that's Op47 (talk) 19:23, 26 December 2011 (UTC) I meant to say

Ok. I added them in order what the project is in scope. Its nothing else but I put banners here t get the project scope. --Katarighe (Talk · Contributions · E-mail) 19:25, 26 December 2011 (UTC)

Per: this. The majority of voters is in favour of posting this news fact with the changed blurb. But it still has not been posted. Could you perhaps do the honour? It'll go stale otherwise. Thanks already! Mythic Writerlord (talk) 19:45, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

Of course, I will try to do so when I'm ready. --Katarighe (Talk · Contributions · E-mail) 19:46, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
Thank you. The sooner the better, though. There isn't much time to lose. Mythic Writerlord (talk) 19:52, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
You're welcome, you are welcome to answer my questions. --Katarighe (Talk · Contributions · E-mail) 19:53, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
Which questions? Mythic Writerlord (talk) 20:00, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
Any item related to In The News. I have been active there. --Katarighe (Talk · Contributions · E-mail) 20:03, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
How does something get posted and added to the "In the News"-template? Who adds the articles, can you add this blurb to the template, for instance? Mythic Writerlord (talk) 20:14, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
    I'm not sure for that. --Katarighe (Talk · Contributions · E-mail) 20:15, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

    Pointless edits

What's the point of edits like these all the like? Increasing your edit counter? Seriously. Nageh (talk) 16:11, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

    No, I'm actually doing maintained work. --Katarighe (Talk · Contributions · E-mail) 16:14, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
Please cite me the guideline, which says that section titles must not be followed by a blank line. Note that I have seen other editors doing exactly the opposite, inserting blank lines when there was none. This, and considering the fact that you submit a separate edit for each blank line speaks against your assertion. Nageh (talk) 16:30, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

    Inappropriate Users

Hi there! Is there any way that I can report or block inappropriate Knowledge (XXG) users that keep editing or erasing my user page? Gillweed1995 (talk) 00:42, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi there, I can report the user who disrupt you. What is the user? --Katarighe (Talk · Contributions · E-mail) 00:44, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
The user that keeps trying to edit this section of your page. Sorry for the inconvenience, by the way. Gillweed1995 (talk) 00:48, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
It would appear that User:Gillweed1995 and User:Googalyweed1 are the same person. Googalyweed1 signed the first post here as Gillweed1995. I revered a change on Googalyweed1's user page which was edited by Gillweed1995 as vandalism. Jim1138 (talk) 00:58, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
Well, thanks for the help. I will find it out. --Katarighe (Talk · Contributions · E-mail) 00:59, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

    Welcome to the 2012 WikiCup

Hello, and welcome to the 2012 WikiCup! The competition officially begins at the start of 2012 (UTC) after which time you may begin to claim points. Your submission page, where you must note any content for which you wish to claim points, can be found here, and formatting instructions can be found in hidden comments on the page. A bot will then update the main table, which can be seen on the WikiCup page. The full rules for what will and will not be awarded points can be found at Knowledge (XXG):WikiCup/Scoring. There's also a section on that page listing the changes that have been made to the rules this year, so that experienced participants can get up-to-date in a few seconds. One point of which we must remind everyone; you may only claim points for content upon which you have done significant work, and which you have nominated, in 2012. For instance, articles written or good article reviews started in 2011 are not eligible for points.

This round will last until late February, and signups will remain open until the middle of February. If you know of anyone who may like to take part, please let them know about the comeptition; the more the merrier! At the end of this round, the top 64 scorers will progress to the next round, where their scores will reset, and they will be split into pools. Note that, by default, you have been added to our newsletter list; we will be in contact at the end of every month with news. You're welcome to remove yourself from this list if you do not wish to hear from us. Conversely, those interested in following the competition are more than welcome to add themselves to the list. Please direct any questions towards the judges, or on the WikiCup talk page. Good luck! J Milburn (talk) and The ed17 (talk) 17:54, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

    Merry Christmas!

"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold,

I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."

    Luke 2:10-11 (King James Version)

Plarem is wishing you a Merry Christmas.

This greeting (and season) promotes WikiLove.

Spread the cheer by adding {{Subst:Xmas4}} to their talk page with a friendly message.
