Sunshine Skyway Bridge

Hi Kitch, I noticed that you moved my old Sunshine Skyway bridge demolition pictures from the demolition section to the general image gallery. Don’t you think that mixing these pictures makes it appear as if the new bridge has been demolished?--Apelbaum 13:17, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi Poomfang/Archive 5! I see you're from Florida. If you're in the Orlando area, please check out this brief survey. I'm looking to start a meet-up of CopyNight, a monthly social discussion of copyright and related issues (like Knowledge, Creative Commons, and open source). If that sounds neat, please answer this short survey to help with scheduling the event. Thanks! --Gavin Baker 09:12, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Tampa Bay Devil Rays

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to 2008 Tampa Bay Devil Rays season. Doing so violates Knowledge's verifiability policy. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Nothing will become official until announced by management on Nov. 8 (this coming Thursday) in downtown St. Pete. Until such time, making these changes is crystal balling and speculation, and these are not tolerated on Knowledge. Thanks for understanding. EaglesFanInTampa 14:07, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

  • I sourced MLB.com on that one. It was verified, sourced, and is fact. --Kitch 14:18, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
    • Actually, it says nothing of what any of the changes will be, just that there will be changes: see here. Until that point, it's rumor and nothing more. As the sources I've pointed out in the article show, the front office refuses to confirm or deny anything until the unveiling. EaglesFanInTampa 14:31, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
      • The edit I made to the article still stated that the exact changes to those were speculatory. All that my edit said was that the changes were coming, as confirmed by MLB.com as sourced. --Kitch 15:40, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Tb-rays-3rdlogo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Tb-rays-3rdlogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Knowledge under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Knowledge. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Knowledge (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Knowledge page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:54, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

From the Editor

Welcome to the inaugural edition of the WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter! I hope this will be a good source of news to those people interested in what's happening around our pro wrestlimg community. I plan to release it every Sunday.

This newsletter will just be a way to get the community announcements to people who don't have the time to check the mesageboards, as well that to those just curious about the news. The newsleter will consist of a project news section (to do with what's happening on Knowledge), and a current events section (relating to news in the "real world"). The newslette will also contain the Collaboration of the Week announcement.

That's all. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please post them at this talk page.

Fair use rationale for Image:Sotclogo85.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Sotclogo85.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Knowledge constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Knowledge page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Edits to Houston Dynamo

Welcome to Knowledge. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Houston Dynamo, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. This is especially important when dealing with biographies of living people, but applies to all Knowledge articles. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are already familiar with Knowledge:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add your original reference to the article. Thank you. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 05:17, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Image:DDR 7th Mix (DDRMAX2).png

A tag has been placed on Image:DDR 7th Mix (DDRMAX2).png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Knowledge. This has been done under section I6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with no fair use rationale uploaded after May 4, 2006 which has been tagged as not having a rationale for more than 7 days.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on ] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Knowledge's policies and guidelines. Welcome to the second issue of the WP:PW newsletter. We apologize for the delay. There was an issue regarding the delivery process.

Anyways, we had a lot of good feedback for the last newsletter. We not only received feedback at the newsletter's talk page, but I also received some messages on my talk page as well. Thank you to those who responded. The only complaint we received was about typos, and we will try our best to keep the newsletter error-free.

Please continue to offer feedback and new ideas for the next issue. The more we have, the more we'll know how to improve the newsletter. Again, thanks!

The WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter is starting up an interview segment that has been in the works for some time now. The current schedule for interviews can be seen here. If you would like to submit a question for an interviewee, please do so by following the instructions here. We are accepting questions for any future interviews. If you would like to sign up to be interviewed, then you may do so here. We hope that this segment will be one of the most popular this project's newsletter has to offer, and promote a greater sense of community amongst the project members. The first interview will be published in next week's issue, and will be with TJ Spyke.

In other matters, we are still running low on current events. If you know of any in the wrestling world that you believe merit mention in the newsletter, or wish to comment on any other aspect of the newsletter, then please contact us here. Thanks everyone, and enjoy the holiday season.
